Mattu University successfully delivered a comprehensive training session on March 14 & 15, 2025 for the Department of Educational Technology and Information Management (ETIM), on the Enhanced Service Learning Initiative for Multimedia Application and Management in Education. The training aimed to strengthen the integration of multimedia tools in education, fostering innovative teaching and learning methodologies.
The session brought together faculty members, researchers, students, non-academic staffs from the ETIM department and local high schools, equipping them with practical skills and knowledge on utilizing multimedia applications effectively. Topics covered included digital content creation, multimedia-based instructional design, interactive learning environments, and the role of technology in improving student engagement.
Assistant Professor Mekonnen Haile, a key facilitator of the training, emphasized the importance of service learning in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. “This initiative will enhance the ability of educators to leverage technology for a more interactive and effective teaching experience,” he stated.
Participants expressed their appreciation for the training, highlighting its relevance in today’s digital learning landscape. The training aligns with Mattu University’s commitment to advancing educational excellence through technology-enhanced teaching methodologies.
The training was delivered in collaboration with European Union and COPAFEU project team.
